Analysation of 1984 by George Orwell regarding the manipulation of power?

Winston and Julia are some main characters that are against Big Brother and the society in which they live. Throughout the novel, they develop a relationship and believe that their love is strong enough, but eventually fall out of love due the power of the society. There is a scene where Juia and Winston are tortured and both wish upon one another their on torture. This shows their selfishness and also shows that their love has died because of the manipulation of the Party and the power that it holds.
