Fallout 3: Use DLC from steam with my Fallout three disc?

I have gotten fallout 3, but I want the DLC packs. I uninstalled Fallout 3, then reinstalled but it never gave me the chance to connect with steam. Is it possible I can buy the DLC packs off of steam then use them on my Fallout 3 dick-game? how? Thanks.
