Should pathalogical LIARS determine what is the TRUTH on the Internet?

There are already plenty of liars and lunatics posting nonsense on the Internet. By nature, techno-nerds recognize no higher authority than themselves, so no official truth service will be taken at face value either. It would be nice to know that there is someone out there who is not lying - but how would one know that?
