Fallout glitch that fudged me over?

Playing Fallout new Vegas and I was by quarry junction getting raped by some deathclaws. I had two followers: Ed-E (or however the you spell its name) and veronica). Before the deathclaws knocked my followers unconscious and started running after me, I decided to pull out Annabell (the missile launcher) and light those bltches up. Work out pretty well except when the smoke cleared Ed-e was gone. Not unconscious just gone. He's not anywhere on the maps. He's not anywhere in the vicinity of where I was. He's not in primm. He's just gone with hella my shiz. what can be done to fix this or find him somehow?
