Socialism means Common Ownership/Collective Ownership and or State/Government Ownership of the means of produc?

It is the redistribution of wealth that qualifies them as socialists. They believe the wealthy are obligated to pay for the poor by virtue of their wealth. If the wealthy have a problem with it, too bad. But, Democrats (in gov't) go further than that. They think in global terms. That is why they encourage globalization so much. They believe it brings global wealth levels closer to our own here in the US, when in reality, sending jobs overseas actually brings our level down to theirs. Parity of global wealth is their goal. That is their perfect world. They don't seem to realize we can't bring the rest of the world up to our level. We can only lower ourselves to their level. I cannot, in good conscience, support that.
