Fallout new vegas NVSE ?

I got falloutNV not from a cd or steam and when I run mods that need NVSE I can't tell if it's working I'm not sure it NVSE works on my fallout Is there a way to check with the consol? Or fomm also I don't have the latest version and don't worry I bought a cd always try before you buy :)
